DID YOU KNOW...it's really hard to give money away when you dress like a beggar, then stand on a street corner in Dallas holding a sign that reads...I have plenty, I need to give money! WHAT???
Well...,this is exactly what we did today. We dressed all of our guys as homeless guys, then put a sign in their hand telling people that they had a job, or had work and wanted to give. Then they stood at the Corner of 35E and Mockingbird in Dallas, trying to give out 5 dollar bills. We found that the most common thing that happened is people ignored them. Most never knew what the sign said because they wouldn't even look at it.
So...our guys started going up to windows and waving the money while they held up the sign!!! THEN, people started to take notice. Of course... it is shocking to see a homeless man giving money away, and that was our whole plan...the irony in it! Wouldn't it be nice to pull up to a light and have someone give instead of take?
We hope that some people were blessed today, and we hope that the spirit of kindness and love was spread!
